Sitting Volleyball

Since the 2012 Paralympics, we have helped the GB Sitting Volleyball team keep playing.

Team GB established a sitting volleyball team once it was known that London had won the bid for the 2012 Paralympics. At the London 2012 Paralympics, the sitting volleyball side, despite being made up from athletes new to the sport, did well and received a lot of publicity, although they did not make it into the final stages of the competition.

After the Paralympics in 2012, the men’s and women’s sitting volley ball teams were struggling for funding, which is where Dream It Believe It Achieve it stepped in to help. This has allowed the Men and Women’s teams to gain experience at national and international tournaments, and prepare for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Through our help the sport is growing and becoming more popular and accessible up and down the country.
